Rags to Riches - neglected thoroughbred racer mare

I loped in and jumped the pasture fence gracefully. I cantered in circles, muscles throbbing underneath my chestnut coat, I longed to be on the racetrack, my previous owner was arrested and put my up for slaughter, but I escaped...and ended up here...

katie: i see her and walk slowly to her"hey pretty girl"

I stopped, nostrils flaring, and nicker

katie: i smile "its ok pretty girl i wont hurt you" i walk to her

I back up awkwardly, my left rear ankle was shattered, and dangled there.

katie: i look at her back leg i walk slowly to her leg i bend down to look at it better "shhh girl i not going to hurt you im here to help" i say in a singsong kinda voice

I lower my head an dlook at her wakwardy.

Mike: i look at the mare then go into the barn to get some hay for her

I sneezed and pawed the ground

katie: i look up "hey mike can you get my the horse wrap?"

Mike: " sure can" he said and jogged to the barn to get it

katie: i smiled and look at her leg

I look at Katie and lifted my tail, being in heat I was used as a breeding mare, and was used to being bred after the first sign i was in heat.

katie: i wrap her leg "hold on girl were not bredding you untill your leg heals"

Feeling releaved to here "not" and ''breeding" I calmed down and nibbled on some grass

Mike: i calmly walk to katie a halter for the mare in my hand

i stand beside salina and nuzzle her then our foal

katie: i smiled "thanks mike" i take the halter and pet her

Mike: i smile " no problem baby"

i walk out of the barn seeing the humans and nudge them happily

Mike: i look up at blue

katie: i put the halter on her and look at mike

Mike: i look at katie and smile

katie: i smile at him

Mike: i pet the mare
